Mama's Family: As the family is eating dinner, they get a visitor. It is Mama's brother-in-law Roy Harper. He has come to visit Carl for his birthday, not knowing that his brother is dead. Against Mama's wishes, Vint asks Roy to stay for a while. Everyone is thrilled to have Roy stay there, except Mama. At the same time, Sonja is preparing for a beauty pageant. Roy tells the women about the time he met Princess Grace, and that story influences Sonja's look. The day of the pageant comes, and Mama has sent Roy on an errand, but Roy doesn't return home right away. When he does get home, he hasn't gotten what Mama asked for, and she complains. Mama complains about Roy, the two get into a small argument, and Mama ends up revealing she has feelings for Roy that she is afraid to express. After the family leaves for the pageant, Mama and Roy have a talk, and Roy leaves. That night, the family is celebrating Sonja's victory, and wonder when Roy will return. Mama says she is sure he will come back to claim what is his.
